SaiMai Thai Restaurant, located at 338 W Armitage Ave in Chicago, offers a delightful experience for Thai cuisine lovers. Patrons rave about the diverse menu and the inviting atmosphere. Jason Smith praised the appetizers, particularly the chicken satay and shumai, perfect for sharing in a laid-back setting. Adam found the Pad Kee Mao to strike an ideal balance of spice, while also being light enough to avoid the heaviness often associated with noodle dishes. The takeaway options are a hit, as Liliana M mentioned enjoying perfectly executed spring rolls and a flavorful vegetable and tofu fried rice, alongside a delicious panang curry, making it a perfect lazy weekend indulgence. Emmanuel Kirui echoed the sentiments of both fullness and satisfaction after savoring the basil fried rice. Pranav Krishnamurthy lauded the restaurant’s ability to maintain high quality even during busy times, particularly praising their green, red, and massaman curries—recipes that truly reflect authentic Thai flavors. With each review underscoring the excellence of the dishes and the accommodating service, SaiMai Thai Restaurant stands out as a must-visit for anyone craving exceptional Thai food in a cozy setting. Highly recommended for both dine-in and carryout options!

We tried a bunch of appetizers and loved every single one. The chicken satay and shumai were standouts. Such a relaxed spot for a shared meal.

Pad Kee Mao had just the right amount of spice. I’m usually picky with noodles but this one was solid. And it didn’t leave me feeling heavy afterward.

Delicious food. Quick carry out. The perfect combination for a lazy weekend day. We ordered the spring rolls, the vegetable and tofu fried rice, and the panang curry. I really couldn’t decide which dish I liked best.

I came here with no expectations and left completely full and happy. The fried rice with basil was so flavorful. Definitely a great spot to come back to.

Wow! Best green, red and masaman curry I have tasted in a long while. Loved that they went out of their way to accommodate us even when the resturant was completely full on a rainy night. Boba and appetizers were also excellent. 100% would recommend

My new location for Bubble tea and Smoothies. I always order Curry and rice boxes. Now they only do self-service dine in and it was ok for a quick lunch and dinner.

I’m obsessed with this place. Namely the lumpias, egg rolls and the currys. I get this all the time. Pick up is always sooner than the eta and it’s easy to pick up.

Great food. Great location. Highly recommended. I had green curry with scallops and fried rice while my wife had pad thai and cold coffee. We were super hungry before we arrived and were full within 10 minutes. It is a hip place with minimalist interior.
